Every year a Festival Queen is chosen in the General Assembly. The Queen will have to represent her team and perform with her team during the School Spirit Competition. The judges are given a separate tally sheet for the Queen in the Competition so they will have to really carefully watch the whole presentation.
This year the Gold Team Started with their Harvest Celebration with their Queen Kathleen Concillo dancing to the drums while carrying a Sto. Nino. The Gold Team participants were eager to break the curse of coming in third . This year they did it but they have to work harder because First place is yet to be reached!
The Silver Team performed next with a Tribute to Peace makers all over the world, using the music of Michael Jackson . This coming school year MDO Highschool will be greener than ever! That's right Falcons , this year MDO Highschool is moving to the Annex right beside the Main Campus . The Annex will house Freshmen to Seniors and with such a move our carbon footprint will be lower as ever since survey proves that MdO students will save energy and fuel consumption with such a convenient location. Parents of higschool students are very supportive with the decision since they believe the new Campus is safer and closer to home. The new area will be landscaped and will provide a learning environment that is conducive for learning . A haven of learning in the City is what the new MDO Highschool Campus will be .
Envision a new cafe , a basketball court , a student lounge , and a well landscaped area . Not to mention the cool Airconditioned Classrooms and newly renovated rooms. Learning is definitely a priority at MDO Highschool , can't wait to see your faces this coming School Year Falcons! So see you when classes open !

It's February and you are very nervous because you still don't have a gown to wear or a suit for the prom! This year you want to look your best but you are on a budget ! The question you are asking yourself is to have a designer to do it or rent! Of course, it would be perfect to have a Designer make your gown or cocktail outfit , a Tailor for your suit or tuxedo. But when you have a budget the best thing to do is to go around the City and checkout your options.
For those that are going to famous designers like Mimi Pimentel , Benjie Manuel etc. if you have a particular design or look that you want, don't be afraid to show it . You can also tell them what areas of your body you are comfortable to show or flaunt . Ask them if the design will suit you , they are designers , they know if the cut is flattering for your body shape. They may even suggest colors that will compliment your skin tone , shoes , and even hairstyle that can go with your look. Of course you can have them sketch as many designs until you get satisfied. Of course , you will just have to make sure your Parent's are backing you up 100% afterall couture is not cheap:-)
Falcons with a tighter budget , do not fret since there are a lot of very good sewers that can help you look like a Princess or a Prince just make sure they finish your outfit on time ! Always have a fitting schedule and of course make sure that you get your outfit three days ahead of time- insist you get it on time ! Also, some designers have suits and gowns that can be rented so make sure you know who they are . Also there are rental places that allow you to be the first user of the outfit , just make sure you agree with whoever you are dealing with .
So whatever it is you decide to do , just make sure that you look your age , the design is tasteful and you are happy with what you are wearing. Afterall , Prom Night is always special .

Step 1: Get Organized!
Your textbook does you no good if you don't know where it is, and you can't expect to ace a test you forgot to study for. Keep your things in order and manage your time. Consider keeping a personal organizer to track major assignments and exams, and create a dedicated study area in your home. You'd be amazed what a difference these techniques make.
Step 2: Set Realistic Goals and Stick With Them!
If you expect yourself to ace every class, you're probably expecting too much of yourself. Chances are you'll be discouraged when you can't achieve the unrealistic goals you've set for yourself, and become tempted to simply throw in the towel. On the same note, don't settle for merely passing your classes when you know you can do more. Take some time to consider your potential and create a plan you can stick with. Set goals, both big and small. Whether it's to finish your reading assignments before each class session or to keep your grade point average above 85 write everything down and review your list often.
Step 3: Keep Your Priorities Straight!
School is about more than your classes. You have extracurricular activities, friends, and family. Either way, it's important to find a balance, and school should be near the top. With a quality education, you can get a better job, support your family better after college so take advantage of your MDO education its been named the best school in CDO and Mindanao. It isn't realistic to always put school above everything, and it's crucial to take a bit of 'me' time now and again, but know when it's time to hit the books and respect it.
Well, as always Fashion Fever is one of the most exciting events at MdO Highschool . Its that once a year chance to shine in the runway and strut like your favorite model! After watching all of the models walk the runway , your teambloggista couldn't wait to find out who will bag the 1st place. As we all know, the Seniors were Fashion Fever '07 Champion and all the other levels made extra preparations to make sure that they would be able to compete well.
And the Fashion Fever '08 champion....

The Gold Team muse Tyrel Lozano had two changes of attire and looked wonderful in her Benjie Manuel costume. Tyrel looked like a sparkling gem in the sea of Muro Ami divers. She looked like their Queen indeed!
Green Team's Queen , Louise Adubal looked like a Goddess when she was presented to the audience with her mermaid tail and all , after some dancing and another change of outfit we see her with legs, coming out from a big clam. Confident and Beautiful armed with great talent in dancing Louise glowed even more. The Silver Team muse , Kaye Arroylo represented a Muslim Princess and if my memory serves me right this girl had a couple of outfit changes with impressive head pieces. Of course her dance steps that made her look like she was floating were authentic and so were her movements. Kaye looked like a Muslim Princess and you could see her School Spirit members beam with pride in watching her perform.
The Results
1st - Louise Adubal Green Team
2nd- Tyrel Lozano Gold Team
3rd - Kaye Arroylo Silver Team
Congratulations you all did a wonderful job!

TEN STEPS TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS
1. Set individual academic and personal goals.
2. Choose carefully which subjects you should give more time, especially during the start of the year.
3. Know and use resources.
4. Meet and get to know faculty.
5. Learn actively.
6. Manage your time well.
7. Know and actively use reading skills.
8. Develop strong listening and note-taking skills.
9. Develop and improve your writing and speaking skills.
10. Get involved in co-curricular activities; learn skills and gain experience.

EIGHT WAYS TO AID YOUR MEMORY
It is more natural to forget something than to remember it. If you intend to remember something, apply as many of the following techniques as possible.
1. Be flexible. Experiment with many learning procedures. Be willing to abandon outmoded and faulty learning procedures so you will be free to acquire new and more efficient methods.
2. Overlearn. In order to retain anything learned, you must practice and reorganize it into your current ongoing activity. One way to do this is to incorporate the learned material as part of your present habit system. Use it in speaking and writing. Act out the material as a rehearsal of a part in a play-a process known as role-playing. This is especially helpful in learning a foreign language.
3. Schedule. Schedule your study time so that the time at which something is learned or relearned is close to the time at which it will be used.
4. Rephrase and explain. Try a little role-playing. Take the point of view of the teacher, for a change. Rephrase and explain the material, in your own words, to a classmate. Allow your classmate to criticize your presentation. Then let the classmate be the teacher, while you criticize. If you can't explain something, you don't really know it.
Many students adopt the so-called warm-body attitude toward learning. A "warm" feeling toward one particular answer becomes the basis for its selection, regardless of whether one really knows why the answer is correct. This attitude is the result of classroom examining procedures in which true-false and multiple-choice items are used exclusively for testing. Testing in this manner encourages the attitude that mere recognition of the most probable answer constitutes learning.
Even though a particular subject may not require adequate recall by using more penetrating recall-type questions, don't allow yourself to fall into this warm-body learning trap. Insist on testing yourself! If you can explain the material, most certainly you can pass any "objective" test calling for superficial recognition. However, the reverse is most certainly not true. Learning only to a point of recognition, and depending on your ability to ferret out the correct response, is insufficient for total-recall kinds of tests. Sooner or later this habit will result in total failure in a demanding test situation.
5. Eliminate accidental and unrelated associations. A study situation in which a phone is constantly jangling produces breaks in the mental association process. Remove the receiver. The only suggestion that can be made for the elimination of television during the study period is to donate the set to a family that is not involved in higher education.
6. Eliminate previous mistakes. Take note of all previous mistakes and make every effort to eliminate them from future practice. It has been shown experimentally that consciously reviewing mistakes, making note of exactly why they were incorrect, helps to reinforce the correct response. This process is sometimes referred to as negative practice.
7. Decide on an order of importance. Some things are more important than others. In a particular study unit, decide what these are and organize the important material into an outline or framework. "Over-learn" this particular framework.
8. Become emotionally involved. Assume the attitude that you fully believe the viewpoint of the author. Strive for perfection. You may never achieve it, but you will most certainly improve your performance. Learn to discuss your current beliefs calmly with people holding different attitudes. Cite authorities to back up your position.
Enjoy learning its what matters most! I bet with the tips you just gotyou will do great in writing essays ang history classes!
Like many students, I didn’t like math . Memorization, repetitive worksheets, stressing about grades, cramming for finals — no wonder so many people hate math! But you have to take responsibility for your own education; only you can make yourself interested in a subject. Here are a few ways to help yourself enjoy learning math:
Know what math really is. Math isn’t about arithmetic or memorizing formulas. It’s about problem-solving, deducing truth, and exploring the concepts of change, quantity and structure. Take a glance at Wikipedia’s entry on Mathematics for more details — it’s actually an interesting read.
Learn to apply math. Like I said, math is all about problem-solving; so, use it to solve your problems! This is what makes math a creative subject as well as a logical one. Sure, applied mathematics is quite advanced, but identifying a use for it will motivate you to work your way up. Math classes generally teach students the formulas before giving any examples of how they can be applied, but perhaps it’d be more interesting if you started with a real-world problem that requires math and worked backwards, finding the formulas that you would need. I might try this myself.
Explore the history of math. This won’t help everyone, of course. “Ew, math and history? Are you trying to kill me?” I don’t like history much, either, but it adds another dimension to the study of mathematics. Take a break from math problems and do some reading. Try learning the origin of a formula before you learn how to use it. Who discovered it? How? Why? What I hated most about math class was not having time to answer those kinds of questions. The teacher have to finish the lesson plan every day, and I have to spend my time on homework every night. That’s why I highly recommend learning math (or any other subject) on your own; you can leave room for yourself to stray off topic.
Relate math to other subjects. Math relates to music, art, architecture, business, science, and even philosophy. If you’re interested in any of those, then learn about them while you learn about math. I’m hoping to write posts about all of those subjects in the future, and I plan to find out for myself just how well math can help with them. In the meantime, here are a couple interesting websites: Wolfram Tones: An Experiment in a New Kind of Music (interactive) and A Logarithmic Image Transformation (at least scroll through to see the cool images).
Surround yourself with math enthusiasts. Sure, you sit with a bunch of other students in math class, but the students rarely talk to each other about math. Most of them don’t want to be there, and it shows. Get inspired by joining a group of people that are passionate about math — people who truly want to learn and discuss it.
Hang in for the long haul. I was surprised at how many math enthusiasts said that learning math shouldn’t be fun. They brought up a good point, though: it can’t all be fun. enjoying math is like Enjoying chess; it becomes more interesting over time. Like learning a new language or learning to play an instrument, mathematics doesn’t become truly rewarding until you’ve made a long-term commitment to it.
So, tell me: what do you think of math? Love it? Hate it? How do you think we could make it more interesting? Its only up to you:-)

Last Week MdO celebrated with a cookfest from Grade School to Highschool !
It was a Spirit Color competition and your teambloggista was there to witness the exciting event. Green , Gold and Silver had to consider their budget, menu, and ingredients among the many things they have to prepare. Of course , Healthy yummy food is what each of the team hoped to achieve. The Grade School students were as prepared as ever , from table setting , to flowers , and plating . I think the Teachers did a great job teaching the students how to handle food in order not to contaminate the work area , down to preparing the table and of course table manners and clean - up .Nutrition Australia has a new focus with a new look to promote positive food and nutrition messages
Here are some tips to enjoy your food in a healthy way!

No matter how you choose to sail through highschool, it's important to do the best you can! I'll give you three tips for getting your act together fast!
Remember your primary goal is to learn. If you find yourself struggling, it's best to turn things around ASAP( as soon as possible) to avoid falling too far behind in your studies. Want to know how to do it? It's simple: get organized, set goals, and put school first.
Whether it's to finish your reading assignments before each class session or to keep your grade point average above 90 write everything down and review your list often.
Step 3: Keep Your Priorities Straight!
School is about more than your classes. You have extracurricular activities, friends, and family . Either way, it's important to find a balance, and school should be near the top. With a quality education, you can get a better placement in college, and excel .Sometimes you feel it isn't realistic to always put school above everything, and it's crucial to take a bit of 'me' time now and again, but know when it's time to hit the books and respect it. February 16, Apple Mae Maandig joined the Youth For Christ Interschool High-school Conference Singing Competition at CU. Apple prepared herself for the competition with the guidance of her Voice Coach Ms. Mel Macadato. To make sure Apple's voice is stellar in her performance with her own rendition of Broken Wing , Apple had to perfect her last belting note.
According to Coach Arnel , Apple's performance showed how skilled she was in singing. She wowed the audience with her Singing ability . Since the Conference started at 1 in the afternoon by 6 pm , your teambloggista correcpondent was messaged that Apple Mae Maadig is the Youth for Christ Inter-school Singing Champion! Congratulations Apple we are proud of you! Soar High Apple!
January 17 - 19 was the date for the Pinoy Idol auditions that is a franchise of Freemantle awarded to GMA 7 for operation this coming Summer. Yes! the search for the first singing sensation will rock the Philippines soon. We are very fortunate that Idol's first stop is of course here at the City of Golden Friendship.
Of course the MdO Performing Arts Group talents were prepared to take on the challenge. 3 days 3 girls devoted their time and effort to prepare themselves for the 3 day auditions. And on January 17 , two of the girls committed themselves in joining the competition, this time with no turning back! The girls exuded confidence and had a few shares of butterflies in their stomach and so did your teambloggista correspondent!
The doors at SM opened at 10AM and the PAG girls Kaye Pates and Jay Angela Omana cued up to register. They were escorted by their voice coach Ms. Mel, Performing Arts Group Director Sir Raul Prima, choreographer Coach Tata , Academic Director and Talent Coordinator Ms. Alexandria H. Reyes, The Directress Mrs. Dolores H. Reyes and your teambloggista correspondent, the girls family and friends. With all the support the girls had high spirits!
Like most auditions the girls waited and waited and by 4 Pm Kaye was called in the Pre-Casting room where a panel of judges were ready to listen to Kaye's repertoire. After Kaye's performance she was given a blue ticket which meant that she was through the next round. Jay of course was also successful in getting the blue ticket afterall this girl is a pro . Day 1 finished with a high note for the girls.
Day 2 , the tension was high , there were only about a 100 singers waiting at the SM activity center. By 4pm Kaye was asked to prepare herself for the Pinoy Idol judges! Kaye's supporters were asked to accompany her , the supporter's were asked questions about Kaye by none other than the host Raymond Guttierez. Inside the audition room Kaye had to face Ogie Alcacid, Jolina Magdangal, and Wyngard Tracy. Since your teambloggista cannot divulge what transpired in the audition room- let me just say that our Kaye made it through and got the coveted yellow pass! After a few hours and some jitters Jay went through the same process as Kaye and Jay also made it! Jay wowed the judges with her powerful repertoire of songs. Now two of MdO's pride will be competing with 100 best singers in the whole of the Philippines in Metro Manila soon. So, let us give our full support to Kaye and Jay as they sing their hearts out in Pinoy Idol!
Kindergarten was easy after a few weeks of getting accustomed to being away from Mom all day. Elementary was all about making projects and learning to write neatly in cursive. Then came graduation and it was suddenly all about friends and social standing. Finally high school arrived and then came the excitement of new friends , getting a cellphone, proms, and even seeing hearts all over. After what seemed like a lifetime of classes, teachers, lectures, and cramming you finally reach the coveted Senior Year! You get to first semester thinking you're big and bad because you're in 4th year high school. You figure you can sit back and make fun of freshmen as you cruise through your classload and enjoy with your friends. Then comes the x-mas break and you're halfway there!
You come back from an awesome break, and you are in the homestretch. So you've finally made it to the last few months of high school, but suddenly there's a strange disease creeping up that makes your brain turn to mush and your motivation disappear... it's called "senioritis"...
Senioritis can strike at the oddest moments. Suddenly the classes you used to pay attention in aren't as exciting. Assignments that used to get prepared the night before are scribbled in the five minutes before class. If it gets really serious grades can be affected and people have even been known to dropout in severe cases.
There are ways to avoid this condition if proper steps are taken early enough. Identifying it is easy enough by checking for the following symptoms:
1. Lack of interest in any class, even classes which previously prompted interest.
2. Lack of enthusiasm in anything school related.
3. Procrastination on assignments.
4. Skipping classes on a regular basis for no particular reason.
5. Lack of participation in class.
6. Previously strong academic student becomes more interested in just "having fun."
If you or someone you know is experiencing more than two of these symptoms and just happens to be a high school senior, he or she may have "senioritis." It's a sad thing, but don't despair. There are ways to combat its effects and finish strong.

The most important way to avoid getting infected with senioritis is to remember what is waiting at the end. Graduation is a time to reward those who stayed strong the whole time. It's not easy to stay focused when you know it's almost over, and you can't wait to graduate, but holding on the last three months is worth the effort. Keep the future in mind. If you're collegebound by June, you'll be a lot better off if you ended high school well, than if you goofed off the last semester. Even if you're just going to get a two year course after graduation, it will look better for you if your grades didn't do a fourth quarter dive into the red zone .
No matter how much you want to just stay up late and talk with your friends, no matter how enticing the 2nd hour nap sounds, stick out the last few months. Finish what you started. You don't have to study day and night, but put in the effort to make it through. Then senioritis will never get the best of you. You too can survive this and get out with grades unscathed. So, go study!
This new year MdO Elementary Department is moving forward in making education and reading a journey that is worthwhile.
MdO will be sharing over 100 new titles for students to enjoy. The books will be available after the January exams , so happy reading Falcons! I love MdO!

During the intramurals that was held last Aug.29-31, many discoveries were made about the students of Montessori de Oro. Particularly some of the Senior students. I, as a senior myself, have looked over these discoveries closely.
The first discovery as that Lindell Balacuit could actually sing. Yes, you've heard that right, I mean read that right. In fact, he even had a duet with our very own Kim Kiunisala. It was pretty entertaining to watch (knowing that he was performing in the canteen), and he knows how to play up the crowd too.
The next discovery is about Camae Visitacion's cool gymnastics jump.haha=D Yes, while playing basketball she did a superb rebound - gymnastics style. I think she has a hidden desire for gymnastics, since she executed such a fascinating jump, and she jumped pretty high t0o.
Next is aspiring diver, Karen Vealdehueza. Why diver? She tends to dive, even if it's located on the ground. To her eyes, it is a pool.haha. And as intelligent as she is, she is quite good at stealing balls. Dont take it too literally though. She is good at steals (basketball), but sucks on dribbling (she travels the ball all the time.).haha. (peace on earth Kar! ~~,)
Another discovery is that Araxza Sanchez is a good dancer, and she projects so well too. We have just noticed this during the competition of the muses. She does the hula-hoop well too. She has her very own trademark, in fact. I desrcibe it as, for the need of a better word, malaswa.haha=D It is n0t actually malaswa, but it's quite, well..Unique.hehe=D Y0u should really see it yourself.
And another thing, the senior girls love the number one, especially in basketball. Yes, we're always number 1. As in 1 rah permi ang score sah basketball. haha=D
LATEST LOVETEAMS??
Some of these loveteams were seen at together at school. Some aroused my curiosity because of the shout-outs during the intrams. See for yourself if its true.=D
1.Kaye Arroylo - Richard Mabulay
2.Clarysse Rañin - Lyndon Mordeno
3. Alyssa Becoy - Louis Noble
4.Tyrel Luzano - Julius Visaviaje
5.Janine Maincan - William Amerkhan
6.Charisse Caburian - William Gaabucayan
* These are all hunches ok? I didn't say it's true. These are based on my conceptions.=D
Rock the world montessorians!
What's up?! The latest talk of the town, make way-just last August 29,-31, of year 2007 was Montessori de oro's bombastic INTRAMURALS! The cool event was held in the said school's premises where games and competitions brought thrill and fun to the ever energetic motessorians. the occasion was formally opened by the lighting of the torch. The battle finally began for series of breathtaking games, which were fought by the 4 teams: SENIORS, JUNIORS, SOPHOMORES, AND FRESHMEN, followed eventually.
Basketball made everybody cheer and hold their breath as the ball swiftly touches the ring. Volleyball caused the players to dive and to gasp "my ball" everytime. Tension roused with straw relay and treasure hunting. Incredible faces during the ABnormal relay shook the atmosphere. Technique counted in siamese twins. The 4 teams hopped for the win in sackrace. Wise chess-layers and their clever moves struck the king for a "checkmate" in chess.
Here are the results for (in respect to the ranking):
LEGEND:S-seniors, J-juniors, SOP-sophies, F-freshmen
Basketball (boys): S,F,J,SOP
(gisls): J,SOP,F,S
Volleyball:S,SOP,J,F
Treasure Hunting:S,SOP,F,J
ABnormal relay: S,SOP,J,F
Siamese Twins: S,J,F,SOP
Sack Race: S,J,F,SOP
Straw relay: J, SOP, F, S
Muse: S, SOP, J, F
Banner Raising: S,SOP.J,F
Each team practiced for how many days their chants for the cheering competition which was the most magnificent part of the intramurals. Definitely the competition meant half the meaning of the intrams. The Freshmen cried for the win.The Sophomores shouted for triumph. The Juniors craved for victory. The Seniors expected nothing but to be "THE CHAMPION". The result went the same as the overall points: Seniors ranked 1st, followed by the Juniors, Sophomores next and the freshmen came after.
The intramurals was truly a success and nothing just can ever be as spectacular as it had been.

Yes Falcons! Jay R- Velez a Fourth Year Montessori de Oro Student, Battalion Commander, Synergy Dancer and Performing Arts Group Member is the man of the hour! Jay-R joined Social Security System's 50th Anniversary Oratorical Competition to represent Montessori de Oro. There were twelve schools that were represented during the Competition. Jay-R was contestant number 5. According to supporters Jay-R started his speech with great command in his voice and very good posture. Jay-R's speech started with "I stand before you as an ordinary student!" his introduction and the content of his speech made a great impact among judges and the audience. It was a departure from the common "Ladies and Gentlemen, or Friends and Countrymen" introduction. A Teacher texted your teambloggista correspondent saying that Jay-R's speech gave him goosebumps!!! Jay- R delivered his speech with the right precision and by the book, Jay-R's speech was not under 3 minutes and did not exceed 4 minutes while other contestants had to be buzzed and warned to conclude their speeches. Jay-R's speech was edited by our very own Principal Mrs. Berdita Contreras. Our Principal made sure that all the elements of a perfect speech would be in Jay-R's piece. Jay-R divulged that he had to memorize the speech a couple of times since it was also edited a couple of times!
Jay-R's Coach, say's that his victory is Montessori de Oro's victory! Jay-R is thankful that God blessed him after all the training and hard work he has done . Jay -R we are very proud of you! Soar High Falcons! Together let us say, Your Future Our Pride!
Thank you to the 30 Amethyst students who participated in cheering on for our contestant!
Thank you Synergy Dancers for sharing your talent and showing other schools why you are one of the best school based hiphop dance varsity in Cagayan de Oro!
Thank you Apple Mae Maandig of the Performing Arts Group for gracing the event with your very inspiring song "Broken Wing!"
Thank you Kuya Tata for helping the Synergy with their dance steps!
Thank you Ms. Mel for the 3 days crunch time that we did to make sure that Apple's voice is stellar!
Thank You Sir Cocoy for monitoring the sound system and standing as the road manager of the performers!
Thank you Sir Raul for the choreography of the Synergy dancers and directing Apple's dramatic move in the finale as well as guiding her in reaching her highest note! Thank you also for making our performers look good . Jay-R's confidence and his performance in delivering his speech is attributed from the training that you have given him throughout the years as a Synergy Dancer.Thank you!
Thank you Teacher Nacaytuna and Teacher Em-Em for your guidance and support!
Thank you to our dear Principal Mrs. Berdita Contreras for making it a positive experience on both your part and Jay-R's part!
Thank you Mrs. Velez for being a wonderful Coach to your son and for making it all worthwhile for Jay-R
Thank you to our beloved Directress Dolores Herrera Reyes for being so supportive of Jay-R and for finding time to listen to Jay-R deliver his speech. Thank you also for giving him tips the night before the competition!
Thank you to all the Alumni Falcons that cheered for Jay-R at the Gymnatorium!

Finally! After 6 months , 2 shows, 2 months of performance training and practices, interviews, and lots of bonding experiences we have our 7 Loveliest!
And the lovely girls are...
During the General Assembly the candidates were all jittery and excited. Everyone worked hard and we salute all the girls that made it through the end. You have gained self-confidence and learned to fight for what you really want! Unfortunately contests always have winners and so we had to name the 7 Loveliest girls !
On the stage there were 7 stars and each girls called will have a chance to stand on her spot. Before the girls were called there were two special awards that were given. Miss Photogenic was awarded to Lutz Tumara , and Miss Popular was awarded to Kaye Arroylo.
When the moment of truth came Lutz Tumara was the first girl called! Kissy Bacolcol was called second and the audience went crazy, cheering for Kissy! Joyce Chan was third and it took her awhile to come up on stage because of excitement! Kaye Arroylo was the fourth girl called and she looked happy and relieved to claim her spot! Althea de Leon was the fifth girl called and she couldn't believe she made it , Althea had the biggest smile! May was called 6th and she looked confident and excited to accept her goody bag and bouquet! Mona was the 7th girl called and it took awhile for her to come up on stage, she was happy to accept her spot as the 7th Loveliest girl. This is just the beginning for the Lovely ladies!

Before the show your Teambloggista photographer was able to capture some photos so enjoy!

TEAM BLOGGISTA features the art works of the nutrition week winners:

The whole student body of Montessori de Oro got very busy on the afternoon of Monday, July 9, 2007 because of our first activity for the celebration of our nutrition month with the theme "Healthy Lifestyle ng Kabataan, Landas sa Kinabukasan" . Everyone was concentrating especially us Fourth Year students (who wouldn't?! TLE has 2 units and we couldn't afford to fail anymore with algebra, calculus, and english to worry about. . haha
). WE practically worked on our posters the whole afternoon, but unfortunately, we didn't actually finished on time so we asked for an extension and it was granted. haha
So we continued working the next morning (which means no physics for us! yeeii!!) and we did it. The extension really paid off though, since we produced many wondrous artworks.=D Then during our TLE period on that same day, we made our slogans. But then again we lacked time so we extended up until the next period (yei again! no english! aw. haha.
). And so, after the extensive use of our creative mind and exquisite talent for art (bagag lepz. haha=D), we rested for wednesday and thrusday. Our next activities were scheduled Friday -- cooking contest in the morning, and quiz bee in the afternoon. During these time, all were in a rush since we had to make everything ready before the judges arrive. Being one of the cooks, I myself experienced pressure since it took a reallyy great deal of effort to budget the time, not to mention competing with the other classes too. But eventhough we met difficulty along the way, we still managed to finish everything on time. Congartukations everyone! =D
In the afternoon, the culminating activity of this year's nutrition month celebration was held at the AVR room. Tension from the contestants was felt in the air. The mind - boggling (is that actually a word?? haha) questions came and went and in the end, the Silver Team was victorious. They were followed by the Green Team, and finally, the Gold Team.
The announcement of winners came next. And here are the results:

As I look at myself today of what I've become, I am proud to see a beautiful person inside and out of me with a full range of emotions and feelings and ideas and goals far beyond my expectations. A true green Montessorian with high spirit and a character on my own, an achiever for excellence, God-fearing, diligent and countless others. And being with Montessori I am proud to say that I made the right choice to stay with my alma mater " Montessori de Oro", where I belong. A school with whom I have and many others like me have so much in common. The brilliant teachings of our teachers who in their own ways are simply amazing because their hearts are big, their souls are beautiful and because everything about them inspires everything that is good in each and everyone of us students.Life in Montessori de Oro can be extraordinary. A mixture of so many things!Challenging, rewarding, demanding, exasperating, incredible, fantastic name it they have it all. To sum it all up they are always behind our dreams, ambition and our successes...-Kathleen Kay Gaabucayan3rd yr- Pearl
Wazzup fellow montessorians! Know who is the most mathematically controversial personality here in MdO? Its none other than Mr. Ruben Capinpuyan our algebra, calculus, and geometry teacher. He is also teaching different mathemathical curriculum at Ateneo de Cagayan. He is the type of teacher who would'nt hesitate to fail somebody in his class.Whooo!! Students often times have their pulse running fast upon hearing his name. Oh!! Such a scary fact. Though we tremble when he gives activities,in no doubt students learn much in his class. His students consider him as the coolest mathematician ever. Why?
Hey there fellow Montessorians! Do you want to know our featured scholar for the month? Here she is..
tentenenen nenen!
MARIA LIZA CZARINA DAGOT AGPAWA
Liza, as what most people call was an honor student since birth. Hahah! just joking.. She was a gold medalist way back in kindergarten and grade school. She also graduated as the Class Salutatorian in our elementary years. But when we entered high school, she quickly regained her spot as number one. In the classroom, she is quite noisy and talkative, but is serious when it comes to her studies.. Or should I say, when the teacher arrives.. (hahah! just kidding people..=D) But eventhough she is a blabber, she still manages to maintain her sky-high grades and dynamic leadership. She is also your average teenage girl.. I mean, she still hangs out with her friends, still goes to malls.. You know, the typical things teenage girls do.. And yet her academic performance is not affected at all. She is unlike those nerdy, nose-sticking-to-books kind of intellectuals. But take note, she is a genius herself..
She was our year representative when we were in our second year, and the current Student Body President. She is also an all-around performer, an award-winning artist and essayist. The Captain of our cheerleading squad, a performing arts group member, and a gymnast. Plus school work and classrom duties. Talk about being busy.
THE OTHER SIDE OF LIZA AGPAWA:
People often think that she is the shy and quiet type of girl.. My dear people, think twice..(haha!=D) Many of you, i'm sure, don't know this side of her.. But when she's with her friends, she is actually outgoing and crazily wacky. She is fond of imitating things.. A music video, one of her classmates, a monkey, chicken, dog, cat, and even babies (yes, that's right.. She made it up - all original).. She is also fond of EARTH MEASURES and eating NIPS (aw! hahah..her closest friends would know..) This girl is also a die-hard fanatic of Spongecola.. more particularly, Yael Yuzon ( and Yael-look-alikes, right? *lafs). And to finally finish it all, this lady digs our very own "baby hearthrobs" like Monel Rodas and Kent Loi Arancon..
So people,now you know..*wink

Four years way back on school year 2004-2005, Synergy started out recruiting their members. Many aspiring dancers have tried to audition but only the BEST among the best dancers remained. As the Senior dancers graduated, new fresh faces showed up as new members showing off their hippest grooves.
They are ordinary students living ordinary lives in ordinary days, just like us BUT nah ah! don't reject these people because even if they only started last 2004,they already got lots of achievements and many public appearances! They danced for Mega Star Sharon Cuneta's mall tour aside from this, they appeared on Danica Sotto's album tour at SM!

Last March 2007,Synergy tried out their luck at ABS-CBN to be a guest performer on PDA's Caravan. Many have auditioned, but unlucky for them because SYNERGY's on the line!During the audition, the Synergy danced to the tune of "Tokyo Drift" and no doubt, they were in.Together with the other performers, they were given a chance to perform with the hottest scholars and have a closer look at them.WheeeEew! They surely are extraordinary!GO GUYS!
