Thank you !

August 1, 2009 at exactly 3:18 AM , the Mother of Philippine Democracy , President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino died . Her death was announced by her only son Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. . Outside Makati Medical, The press were scrambling and the cameras as well as the flashing lights of reporters confirmed what was inevitable . Reporters were pushing each other to get the statement "Noynoy " was sharing with the press. August 1, 2009 our beloved President succumbed to Colon Cancer through cardiac arrest .
Yes , it is sad to learn that Mrs. Corazon Aquino lost her battle over cancer , but through her death I did see that she awakened and uplifted the Spirit of Filipinos . The fight for Democracy and a clean Government is not over yet !
During her wake , people from all walks of life showed their respect and homage to the restorer of peace and democracy in our country some 23 years ago. Prayers and Vigil were dedicated to President Cory Aquino , lamp posts and trees as well as people tied yellow ribbons to symbolize their support to the Aquino family. August 3, 2009 as I watched the remains of President Cory being transported from La Salle to Manila Cathedral, I could see how much she was loved . The experience of seeing it on television , gave me goosebumps . People were showering confetti and were shouting "Cory" and were singing as the hearse of the former President passed along . Some mourners wept together with some of the family members , that were moved with how much love and support they were getting from People.
President Aquino rose to power in 1986 when Ramos and Enrile together with the People and Jaime Cardinal Sin led an uprising against the repressive regime of Former President Marcos that went on for 20 years ." People power " served as an inspiration to nonviolent resistance across the globe even in Tiananmen Square, the Chinese protesters were flashing the Laban sign and used People Power as their inspiration to fight for their freedom.
President Aquino led the country for 6 years and at the end of her term , she graciously handed her power and authority to her successor President Ramos . So many years have passed and today , Filipinos are facing another struggle with a government that is investigated even by the Hague for so many political killings . Let , President Aquino's life in fighting for freedom be a beacon of light in making Filipinos today realize, through her passing that the Spirit of Edsa lives on .
Thank you President Corazon Aquino and what lies ahead is undetermined but you have showed us that together Filipinos still can....
